Eight Great Podcasts to Listen to this Sustainability Week

It’s Sustainability Week here at Abodus Student Living, and we are making significant efforts to move towards being more eco conscious in all that we do and encouraging our residents to do the same!

Alongside our calendar of events for this week, we’ve also put together a list of ‘green’ podcasts that you can listen to that will help get you started on your sustainability journey. Read on below to learn more and to find your next favourite sustainability podcast!

  1. Sustainababble is a weekly comedy podcast about the environment. Its hosts, Ol and Dave, aim to filter through the green washing and expose the ‘eco villains’ of the sustainability world.
  2. Sustainable(ish) was founded by Jen Gale, who says she became “fed up with the narrative that we can only make a difference if we live off grid in a yurt and learn how to knit our own yoghurt.” Jen’s podcast aims to help others do what they can to create change, one small step at a time.
  3. Sustainability Speaks was created by “a team of undergraduates, post-graduates, and recent graduates” who all share an interest in sustainability. The podcast focuses on all sustainability-related issues, from fashion to science and everything in between, and it aims to spread awareness about the topic.
  4. The Good Dirt is a weekly podcast founded by mother and daughter, Mary and Emma, digs deep into all things related to slow and sustainable living. The podcast aims to help us all leave the world better than we found it.
  5. Seeking Sustainability is a podcast that delves into sustainability and environmentalism and in an inclusive, broad, and multidimensional way. The overall goal of the podcast is to shine a light on others from all different backgrounds to make the planet a better place.
  6. sustainabiliME explores everything related to sustainability and the environment. Each episode of the podcast aims to discuss at least one sustainable thing the average person can easily apply to their own life.
  7. A Sustainable Mind started as a master’s thesis project by its founder Marjorie Alexander and was created as a way of inclusivity to ensure everyone, regardless of their gender, race, age, or background, is included in the conversation around sustainability. On the show, Marjories talks to “the minds behind today’s most impactful environmental campaigns, organizations, and start-ups.”
  8. The Sustainability Study takes a look into how others are taking sustainable actions that are seen as out of the ordinary to help make a positive impact on the future of the earth. The aim of the podcast is to help us all work together to establish and implement sustainable solutions into our personal and professional lives through a number of different ways.

We know it can be a bit daunting to ‘go green’ if you don’t yet have much knowledge of or experience with sustainability, but we are here to help you learn a bit more about what it is and how we can all work together to become eco friendlier!
