How do you get about the City? We are doing our traffic survey on Thursday 14th April at the Rosedale Court Reception. Please look out for the on site staff and tell them where you are off to and how. 

Northumbria University Public Lectures

There is a fantastic array of free public lectures run through out the year at Northumbria University. The next event,  happening on 20th April is entitled " A Day in the Life of the Brain ; The Neuroscience of Consciousness from Dawn to Dusk" and will be presented by scientist, writer and broadcaster Baroness Susan Greenfield C.B.E.

Top Ten UK Universities

The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2016 published on 17th March reports that for the second year running Newcastle University is ranked in the Top Ten UK Universities for the student experience it offers its students. The survey looked at areas such as quality of staff and lecturers, on campus facilities and student support and welfare. Cycling is a great way to get around the City and at Portland Green we have secure bike racks in the courtyards for your bikes - if this is your chosen mode of travel. As well as being environmentally friendly it is a superb way to keep fit.

Chinese New Year, also known as The Spring Festival, is celebrated in February. Each New Year is marked by one of 12 characters in the Chinese Zodiac and this year it’s the Year of the Monkey. People born under this sign are, not surprisingly, considered to be quick-witted, curious and mischievous!
